Experience an
offline holiday!

Book your stay at Södra Gård if you want to encounter an offline holiday. As a result of almost no phone reception you are able to disconnect with the world for a short period of time. Relax, take a breath and enjoy the beauty of Sweden: NATURE! Our farm is surrounded by large pine trees, 360 degrees, and ensure a close contact with wildlife. Predator birds hoover above our grassland and moose pass through the forest. Lastly, you might even see a lynx when you are really quiet!

The Old Hunter’s Cabin: An authentic retreat into Sweden’s wilderness

The house is decorated with old fashioned wallpaper from the late 60’s, an old Jøtul stove and many more old vintage touches. We can promise you a unique stay at Södra Gård farm!

Outside the cabin you will find a private garden equipped with a wildlife grill and equally important, a hot-tub. Enjoy a good book or watch the birds while your body and mind relax during a warm bath.

The farm is designed for adventurers who would like to know more about permaculture farm life or want to go out in nature. You have the possibility to scout your breakfast together with eggs from our free-range chickens, pick fruits from our food forest and vegetables from our garden (depending on the season). You are always allowed to give us a hand on the farm, small and large tasks. Have a look on our YouTube channel to find out more.

If your adventure lies within nature, we recommend you to visit Glaskogen. The Nature Reserve has a broad variety of activities that catches everyone’s interest. Hiking, canoeing or fishing are the three largest possibilities. Read more about it on our activity page.

What to do in the area?

Activities

Glaskogen Nature Reserve
The biggest reason why we moved to Årjäng. A big nature reserve that offers endless hikes, waters and sleeping activities. With more than 29.000 hectares it is the largest nature reserve of Värmland. Only 600 of them are protected areas, other hectares will be used for forestry by private owners.
Sjöänds skans in Glaskogen.
Sjöänds skans
Without expecting any threats, the Germans surprisingly came closer to the Swedish-Norwegian boarder. This action caused a big wake-up call within the Swedish army and many different fortresses were built within a few days. Sjöänds skans is only one of the many and lies at the border of Glaskogen.

At our farm
At our permaculture farm we thrive to engage guests to come and pick their daily fresh food. We offer an egg hunt, veggie picking and so much more that our land has to offer. There is also the possibility to assist us on projects that we currently build.
