It is beneficial to have goals each year to be motivated to pursue your dream! One of our goals is to set up a farmstand. A stand with products you want to have during your holiday or as a token of your holiday. Or perhaps as a small reminder for visiting us. We feel proud of our products and we want to share this with locals and tourists driving by to Glaskogen.
An idea was born
Stefan and I have always said: We need to fix a farm stand aside of the road. A stand that holds products that you can use during your stay at the Glaskogen nature reserve that are durable, sustainable and/or edible. Or products that you can bring home as a sustainable souvenir. We have thought about it for almost two years. What are products that people need and want that we can make with extremely low product costs? But more importantly, what are products that we can make with second hand or 100% nature materials that we can make ourselves? This is a challenge, as we have no carpenter skills, nor food growing skills. We are rookies. But we have a desire, a wish and that has always been a great inspiration, motivator to pursue our dream. And so it began.
During our time in Sweden Stefan learned to develop proper carpenter skills and easily makes bird- and bat houses of our pine trees. He cuts down a tree, uses most of the wood for our buildings and the scraps are used to create awesome houses for our flying friends.
The farmstand consists of woodcarvings, bird – and bat houses, fire wood stacks, seasonal veggies/fruits and pottery. It is possible to pay us through SWISH, banktransfer or cash. Just leave a digital note with what you have bought and we will hope you enjoy each of the bought products. Currently we look into packaging and sending our products. Yet the freight costs are rather high. If you still want products from us, but cannot come by our farmstand, please reach out through our contact page. Together we will find a solution.
